My life has been changing while I was studying in South Africa. Life is meaningful more than anything. After I got back home it makes me think more often how I can put myself to others. Difference places, difference people but one thing we have in common is community. We help each other, love each other, take care of each other, encourage to each other and etc…

My journey started on September 21st, 2013 to South Africa. This was the first time for me outside of Thailand for long period. The school of IPHC (Introduction to Primary Health Care) was attracting me to study. New atmosphere, totally different from my country. This was a new world for me but I like to adjust myself easily to anyone and anywhere I go. I couldn’t find myself difficult for a new thing. More than that I have many friends from around the world who are a part of my life, helping me growing strong in Christ. Especially they are always support me when I need helps.

Worcester was my second home which is bonding my life in amazing things. Their divers cultures are fasinating. The weather is beautiful I haven't had experience before and more than that people are so kind. It makes me felt in love with this place because there are many things waiting for me to indulge with. My life is worth more than enough here!

With a passion of my heart, I want to see myself in the field helping needy people in medical. So I chose to study in this course (IPHC) at YWAM Worcester, South Africa. This was not an accident but it’s a wonderful plan of God. This school was completely new for me. All the subjects I had studied I never studied before in Thailand. It’s hard for me at the first time. But I realized through these all subjects are really important to others who live far away in the remote village. I tried to put myself in effort as possible I can until I finish this course in next three months. (please see details what I have learn below in each week). Not just learning only in the school, we went to have inspection at hospital to observe what nurses are doing and how they are taking care patients. Sometime we went to school closed by our community for teaching the words of Christ, moral, health, games, and etc. We also went to do some activities with kids and gave some foods to the poors at the poverty places. People have no hope  in their future. Many young people have neither education nor job. So only the words of the Lord could change them. Every time we went there with pastor (who love these people so much), we are inspired through their smile on their faces both of adult and children.

Two months on outreach to apply what we have learned to people. Imagine to the place which is very developing but on the other side of this place is totally opposite. We went to Johannesburg called “Mategareng”. Not many people know this place. Mategareng is the place outside of Johannesburg around 5 hours. It’s a poor place where needy people live without water and electric light. But you will find the way of simple life there. We went there to help the clinic at the observation department. There are many people got sick, some of them came from very far another village just to see nurses. Most of the problem there is HIV positive problem. I could feel how their heart feeling with this disease. So we just encourage them to live their life well. Also things we could do there is vital signs taking and health teaching.

Another thing we did was kid activity. As you know African kids look like. Innocence kids with smiling on their face, it makes me falling in love with them. I felt like I was a super star from Thailand. Most of them came to see me and play with me, especially my skin is attracted to them because of the different color. All day long, we taught them bible, moral, and games. They really like it a lot. One think I definitely like so much is all the kids here are so confident. They’ve never been shy as comparing to Thai kids. Most of the kids here have no clothes and no shoes to wear. Dirty clothe they wear every day. Because of lacking water, they have no good hygiene. Also some kids have no food to eat. Definitely no snack to please their mouth.

The weather here when it’s cold, it is terrible cold, and when it’s hot, it is terrible hot. I just want to ask you to please help them while you are reading this my message. However I am so much glad that I can be a part of their life because of what I have done there. We pour our love to them. Help them as much as we can and brought them light. They are inspired and encouraged by us. The words of the Lord is very important to them when they grow up. Another problem here is pregnancy during school time. Teenagers misunderstood of living. Most of them did a mistake of having sex before finishing school. It causes to many problems (STI, pregnancy, HIV, Broken family, over member in the household, no job and etc.)

So I found myself here of the fact of music that I’ve never known before. I’ve never been touching the beauty of music. Music is everything and music is life for African. Every tribe has their own unique traditional dance. Everyone dance when the music starts both all adults and kids, no one won’t dance. I am loving in music day by day. Music is alive!

After that we went to Mozambique. This country is totally different. People here use Portuguese for an official language. There are many poor people who are waiting someone to come to help in both spiritual and physical. We stayed in Maputo where a capital city is. Here we went to visit people by encouraging them because this city was destroyed by flood in 10 years ago. Everywhere was full with trash. We came to help pastor who has passionate to his people. It’s a wonderful time getting to know others.

Next place our real mission was there. So we could help people in Medical. Life is challenging. It’s not easy but full of Joy. We travelled to other places by our own. It’s not an easy thing. Fully people in the bus but with our heart poor out to people, we have to get ourselves ready when the sun starts rising up. Sometime we walked about 10 kilometers before reaching the place because there are many people were waiting for us to check on their health.  First time I could find myself in difficult in diagnose disease. Some time I can figure out what wrong with their health, some time I couldn’t. So I would rather refer them to the doctor in the hospital. One limited we have, we didn’t have much medical with us at that moment. I was so much sad when I saw them go back home with no medicine because I knew that they expect something from us. Another thing, we have not enough staff to checking them, some of them complain to us to do faster. However we couldn’t follow as what they suggested. We had to treat someone as we can do possible. We went home late in the nights. We taught some health teaching on HIV, pregnancy, cancer, blood pressure, wound care, and etc. Some time we went out to visit people, check their health, pray for them, brought some food supply for them. This job is the most tired but I am so enjoy seeing the people having a great life.

Life there is much poor. People don’t earn enough for daily life. Most of the people here have problem with HIV, malaria, broken family, poverty, less education, and transportation but HIV is a big problem.

However I really like the people heart so much. They are generous of giving. I could see their heart at the church when it’s the time for offering. I have no seen no one still have seat, not giving money to the Lord. Even more than that they give some money to other who don’t have, so that they can offer to the Lord too. I could learn from this big thing to help me to give.

6 months in Africa is worth for me. I am still thinking of this continent often. I wish that one day I could have a chance to go there again as a worker as the dream I have had in these past years. I keep asking for the Lord that He will guide me in His way.

Lastly I would love to say thank you to my all supports who open my eyes to see things I can’t see from Thailand. You are so faithful to the Lord and so faithful to me. Many thanks again.
